https://journals.gesociety.org/index.php/jppmse/article/view/254

This community service program aims to utilize oyster mushroom baglog waste as raw material for compost production using EM4 technology. The activity was conducted on October 28, 2024, at Rumah Jamur Nando, Pekanbaru, Riau, involving 19 participants, mostly housewives interested in home gardening. The program included socialization, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive discussions to ensure participants' understanding of the composting process. The results showed that a fermentation period of 7–14 days produced high-quality compost with a crumbly texture, dark brown color, and odorless characteristics. EM4 technology effectively accelerated decomposition, converting baglog waste into nutrient-rich organic fertilizer. This initiative provides ecological benefits by reducing organic waste and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. It is expected that this method can be independently applied by the community and further developed on a larger scale to enhance agricultural productivity based on natural resources.
Verona KinantiPutri Hani HendriNurhawani SiregarEnjelita AfriyonaLaura RamadaniVeroniceAlfikri
