Abstract

The community engagement activity was conducted to introduce and implement the Para Swim Classification (PRSC) digital system as an innovative tool to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of athlete classification in para swimming. Traditional classification methods are often constrained by manual assessments, subjective evaluations, and documentation challenges. The PRSC system integrates physiotherapy knowledge and digital technology, following the standards of the World Para Swimming (WPS) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Through workshops, demonstrations, and discussions, students, physiotherapists, and sports practitioners were involved in the development and testing of the system. The activity successfully increased participants’ understanding of functional assessments and improved their digital literacy in para sport technology. Overall, the implementation of the PRSC system provides a sustainable foundation for future research and innovation in athlete classification management.
