Abstract

Healthcare is an essential service for the quality of life of the populace, yet the availability of healthcare particularly in a more rural area such as Nagari Rao-Rao where the nearest provincial hospital is in the city of Batusangkar approximately 45 minutes away, although Nagari Rao-Rao is equipped with a public clinic, it is paramount to understand rising health issues in Nagari Rao-Rao, to anticipate the needs of the people of Rao-Rao, to further understands healthcare issues in Nagari Rao-Rao for the purpose of helping the local clinic in creating a robust strategy to combat an rising healthcare issues, 2025 Unand Rao-Rao Community Service Program (KKN Rao-Rao 2025) in partnership with Puskemas Sungai Tarab offer a free public medical checkup for adults and geriatrics, this medical free checkup compromise of anamnesis, weight and height check, belly size measurement, Blood pressure test and finally sugar blood level test. The findings resulting from these medical check ups was astonishing. Out of 104 participants of these free health checkup it was uncovered that 49 participants suffered from hypertension and 8 participants suffer hyperglycaemia showing a significant trend of non-infectious diseases, while the rest showed normal healthy findings, these findings leads us to the conclusion that Nagari Rao-Rao has a significant trend of heart diseases, and we strongly recommend the law makers and administrator of the Nagari as well as the public health apparatus of Tanah Datar Regency, to create a more robust system of health service, while further spread an awareness of non-infectious Diseases.
